“He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”   –   Jesus

This life is NOT an end in itself.

It is, in fact, only the beginning.

If we don’t get the beginning right,

we can’t continue on to the next step.

We cannot fulfill our purpose in life.

1 – We can’t fulfill our purpose in life unless we know what it is.

2 – We can’t find out what it is unless we know where to look.

3 – We won’t know where to look unless someone tells us.

That is what Christians are for – they are God’s messengers, whose mission it is to show others where to look to find their purpose in life.   Christians are ambassadors from another land, another world – the world beyond death and the grave — the NEXT world.

Some may say, “what if this world is all there is?” But the larger question is, “what if I spend my life focusing ONLY on this world, and completely miss the purpose for which I was created?”

what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?

(Mark 8:36 – New Living Translation).

That doesn’t have to happen if you will listen and obey the message of THE GOSPEL.

So what IS the “gospel?” It is simply the good news that the Creator of the universe has sent His Son to suffer, die on the cross,  and then be resurrected from the dead that each of us might have forgiveness for our sins and the hope of everlasting life.    If you sincerely repent of your sin and accept God’s forgiveness through Christ, you can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will transform your life into one that desires to live a holy life that pleases God.  You will be changed from a powerless sinner into a new creation of God by  the same power that raised Christ from the dead.   And God loves us so much that He has also given us a book which explains all of this to us. The Bible is God’s Word, His instruction booklet to all of mankind.

Have you repented of your sins? Has your life been transformed by the presence of the Holy Spirit in your heart and life? If you are not sure, then I can assure you that you are not ready for heaven.

The Word of God is full of promises of a future life. The Bible has MUCH to say about heaven and the blessings awaiting those who go there. But I would be less than honest if I failed to remind you that the Scriptures also reveal vivid descriptions of what happens to those who reject the gospel, and it is not pleasant.   Whether we want to or not, we must each choose how we will respond to God’s offer of forgiveness. One day Jesus WILL return to this earth to rule as King of kings, and Lord of lords. There is a glorious future in store for God’s people. Have you ever read any of the Psalms from the Bible? Psalm 2 is a prophecy, written approximately three thousand years ago, of what will take place when Christ returns. I would HIGHLY recommend it.  This chapter is either very encouraging, or terrifying. It all depends on whether or not you are a servant of the Lord.

When Jesus Christ returns to this earth, EVERY knee will bow before Him, and EVERY tongue will confess that He is Lord. For those who have already made that confession, the return of Christ will be a glorious day. For those who have not, it will be just the opposite. They will bow their knee, but only because they must.

Heaven is NOT the default destination for those who do not repent and accept Christ as their Savior and Lord.   The default destination for those who do nothing is hell! That is why it is SO important for you to listen to the truth of the gospel. When Jesus walked on this earth, he often used the phrase, “He who has an ear to hear, let him hear.” Are your ears open to God’s Spirit? Are you listening for the truth?

Heaven is a BIG place, and there is plenty of room for you!   There was room on the ark for more than just Noah and his family, but no one else accepted the invitation. The Bible says that the last days of planet earth will be much the same, so PLEASE, PLEASE, —– DON’T MISS THE BOAT!!

If you are not sure that you know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, please make sure today!
