TEN REASONS NOT TO BELIEVE IN EVOLUTION (short version)
1. Evolution is against common sense. Life does not come from non-life. Order does not come from disorder/chaos. Information does not come from random chance. (see my article, Nothing Happens By Chance, at www.signpostsontheroadtoreality.com).
Evolutionist, George Marsden, has admitted, “Evolution….strains popular common sense. It is simply difficult to believe that the amazing order of life on earth arose spontaneously out of the original disorder of the universe.” (from “What is Creation Science?”, p. 1)
2. There is no proof for evolution. “Evolutionists allege that evolution is a proven scientific fact, based on a multitude of scientific proofs, but they are unable to document even one of these supposed proofs!” (from “What is Creation Science?”, p. 1)
3. There is no known mechanism for evolution. No one understands how evolution works. There are, in fact, almost as many theories of evolution as there are evolutionists. “Calling evolution a fact without at least broadly identifying a mechanism is both non-science, and nonsense.” (“What is Creation Science?”, p. 110)
4. There is no fossil evidence of evolution. You have probably heard the claim that the proof of evolution is in the fossils, but many scientists will tell you that this is not true. The late Stephen J. Gould, a Nobel-prize winner, even referred to this as “the trade secret of paleontology.”
5. There is no order in the fossil record. The supposed “geologic column” is completely manufactured on the assumption of evolution (this is called “circular reasoning”). This “manufactured” column is not found anywhere on earth. The only place it exists is in textbooks and in the mind of evolutionists.
6. Evolution contradicts known natural laws of science. Evolution says that nature gets better – or improves. But the natural laws of science say that everything is degenerating, and wearing out. This fact is known by all true scientists, such as well-known science fiction author Isaac Asimov, and even Albert Einstein. The second law of thermodynamics, also known as “entropy,” was referred to as the “premier” law of science by Einstein.
7. There is no evidence of millions of years. This idea is based solely on the assumption of evolution. All dating methods are speculative and unreliable. There are numerous sources for error in radioactive age measurements. Even evolutionists recognize that there is extensive evidence that points to the age of the earth being only thousands of years. For example, one recent discovery, by a team of scientists led by Mary Schweitzer, found soft tissue and intact proteins in the bones of T-Rex dinosaurs, which supposedly became extinct 65 million years ago!
8. Evidence points to recent human civilization as well, so creation just a few thousand years ago makes sense. There is no fossil evidence of human bones from millions of years ago. (P. 15,16 – “What is Creation Science?”)
9. Physical evidence points to recent creation. Earth’s magnetic field is decaying and radiocarbon, helium, uranium, nickel, etc., could not have been accumulating for millions of years at the rate it is accumulating now. (“What is Creation Science?”)
10. Fossil evidence points to a worldwide flood, not uniformitarianism (Uniformitarianism is the idea that the same gradual and uniform processes we see operating today are the same as those that operated in the past to form the geology that now exists). But in 1961, Dr. Henry Morris and Dr. John Whitcomb wrote their classic creationist book, The Genesis Flood, which revealed the powerful forces that must have occurred during the flood of Noah, an event that lasted over one year. And today, we have even further evidence of the power of nature to change the face of the earth very quickly, as we survey the wreckage of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens, in May of 1980.
In that relatively small, localized area, in a matter of just a few days, weeks and months, canyons were carved out by the debris of the volcano’s blast that were approximately one-fiftieth the size of the Grand Canyon. Therefore, if something like that could be the result of just one volcano in a small area of North America, just imagine what might be the effect of a
cataclysmic worldwide flood lasting over one year?
