THE ULTIMATE CONSPIRACY

THE ULTIMATE CONSPIRACY

Conspiracy is a super-charged word, almost explosive. I would be the first to agree that there are a multitude of “crazy” theories out there, which have no basis in fact or reality.  However, I do believe that we can all agree on one thing, and that one thing is this.  Evil is a very real force in the world in which we live.  The story that you are about to read is all about  this thing called evil  –  what it  is, and where it comes from.

Everything that exists has a source.  And I believe that everything proceeds from one of two possible sources.  The first source is evident when you wake up in the morning and open your eyes, as you take your first breath and step into a new day.  The power that causes life to flow through your veins is the same power that causes the sun to shine and the earth to turn.  That source is good, and that source is God.

God has always been very clear and upfront in his dealings with mankind.  He has given us his Word, which explains in detail how he made all things, and how man fell into sin in the garden.  Immediately after our ancestors first sinned, God promised that he had a plan to restore them to himself, and the entire Old Testament reveals the story of God raising up a people for himself in the land of Israel.  During this time, God continues to tell his people that he would one day send them a Savior, a prophet and teacher and king, who would bring his people back to himself.

Then, at the proper time, a precisely-timed moment in history, the Son of God came to earth.  The Creator Himself, stepped into the world He had made, and walked among us.  Though He only remained here a few short years, the impact He made upon our world continues to this day and will, the Bible states emphatically, continue forever.

When Jesus called his disciples, he told them they were going to “fish” for men.  His mission was to bring people to God, to turn them away from the darkness and pain of sin to the glory and goodness of God.  That is what he did then, and continues to do today through his Church.  His Church is his Body in the earth today – the hands and feet and heart of Jesus Christ.  But Jesus  often warned us that there is another who seeks to control their lives and draw them away from God.  He called him the “father of lies,” and the “evil one.”

This is the second source of which I spoke.  Everything that is good comes from God, but we all know that everything is not good.  In the beginning, all things “were” good, until the devil came on the scene.  I cannot tell you why God has allowed such evil to exist, but we all know that it does.  The devil  came to Eve in the garden and “deceived” her.

This is how evil always comes – with deception.  God created everything, so everything is good.  The only way evil can exist is through deception.  Evil must always disguise itself, or conspire to be something good.  Satan deceived Eve by something which looked to be good.  The fruit that God had prohibited “looked” good, or so he said.  And then he conspired to delude her with a lie.  He told her she would not die if she ate the fruit.  That was a lie.  The devil also lied about God, telling Eve that God was keeping something good from them – another lie.

Isn’t this how it always works?  Someone who you think is your friend, or someone who poses as a friend, lures you into something that is wrong, or evil, and destructive.  We have all been fooled  many times, and in many ways.  Look back through the pages of your life and see if you can spot the devil leading you astray, here or  there.

Now look at the world today.  Every time you turn around, someone is trying to get his hand in your pocket.  It seems that the whole world is a web of confusion and lies, but Jesus told us what to look for.  He said the enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy.  But we have to remember, the devil always wears a disguise.  So when someone tells you something that doesn’t sound quite right, be very careful.  If you hear about a scheme which sounds too good to believe, don’t go along with it.

Politicians promise us they will give us what we need.  We just need to give them more money and control.  They are stealing.  Others tell us that we have the right to do what we want, so if someone becomes pregnant unexpectedly, we have safe, legal abortion.  But this is murder, and it doesn’t matter what anyone says, their conscience will never let them forget.

Evil has a vast array of costumes, but it always yields the same fruit.  Whenever we choose to eat the forbidden fruit, we will inevitably get death and destruction.  It doesn’t matter how many Hollywood celebrities tell us it is ok.  When will we finally recognize that whenever someone tries to turn us against God and His Word, something is wrong?

One of Satan’s greatest disguises is intelligence.  Whenever someone begins to tell you that this is what all the smart people believe, watch out.  The Bible tells us that sometimes those who claim to be wise are actually fools.  Many people have been seduced by the lie of evolution, because they have been “told” that anyone who believes otherwise is weak and ignorant.  Even Christians have been sucked into this trap.  They end up trying  to change the Scriptures to accommodate the theory of evolution, because they don’t  want to be out of step with the world, but the theory of evolution was never conceived to explain how God created the universe over millions of years.  Evolution was originally the product of those who sought  to prove that faith in God is unnecessary, and that there actually is no God.

Anyone who wants proof of this only has to search the writings of atheists and evolutionists.  In 1966, in a book entitled, “Confessions of a Professed Atheist,” Aldous Huxley stated that he had a motive for not wanting to believe in God.  And that motive was not based on facts, but was simply a means to achieve freedom from accountability.  “For myself, as no doubt for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation……we objected to the morality (of Christianity) because it interfered with our sexual freedom.”

We find another example of this in evolutionary biologist, Richard Lewontin, who wrote that he was so committed to the idea that this material world is all that exists, no matter what common sense and the facts of science seemed to say, that he, and others who were in agreement with him, declared that they “cannot allow a Divine foot in the door,” by which he meant that they would not even entertain the thought of the existence of God and the supernatural world.

There are many evolutionists that will admit, unhappily, that much of the evidence of science seems to point to Biblical creation, but because of the peer pressure that exists in today’s popular culture, they just cannot bring themselves to risk the certain scorn that they undoubtedly will receive if they go along with believing in God.  But why?  Why have so many seemingly intelligent people been convinced that they must not even consider faith in God as a valid position?  Because they have been fooled into believing a lie.  Maybe because of their desire to be accepted by popular culture, or because they just want to be free to do whatever it is that they want to do.  Whatever the reason, they have become victims of a great conspiracy, one that has been going on for thousands of years.

No, I do not believe in every conspiracy theory that comes down the pike.  But I do believe in one specific conspiracy, which is actually the father of all lies and conspiracies of evil, and it all started in the garden of Eden when the question was asked, “Did God really say……?”

If you would like to verify my story, you can read about it in the history books, as well as in today’s newspapers.  Wherever the truth of God’s Word is challenged, just examine the motives and the character of those behind it.  The Scriptures tell us that you can be sure that your sin will find you out.  Whether you are watching a movie or reading a book, the villain will be found out in the end. And when this world, as we know it, comes to an end, it will be plain for all to see who the ultimate villain was, and is.  So —  it would be a very good idea, I would say, to make sure right now that your hope is in the Victor, the Lord Jesus Christ, and not in the one who will be vanquished on that day.

I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me. You are my Son. Today I have begotten You.  Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.”          Psalm 2:7,8

“And the devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone….”     Revelation 20:10
